We are the guardians of
Amazonia
(Kawsak Sacha Warmikuna = Women from the living jungle)
We are a group of women who live in the Ecuadorian Amazon, we belong to the Kichwa community, representatives of the Kawsak Sacha and Ñucanchi Allpa peoples.
We are mothers, wives, daughters, we live in the jungle, we take care of it and the jungle takes care of us, it provides us with food and life.
We are guardians of the Amazonian wealth, we resist the extractivism of oil, wood and all the natural resources that our mother earth offers us and are not respected, we fight every day for a decent life for our peoples and the care of our nature.
We present ourselves to the world through this project to make all aware of our harsh reality, the abandonment of which our peoples are victims, the low level of education that our children receive, the lack of medicines, basic resources and the irrational exploitation of the Ecuadorian Amazon.
We do not want charity, we want to work and on this page that you generously donated to us we are going to present our handicrafts and our products so that all those who feel love and respect for nature help us, in this way we will have more resources to take care of our children and the lung of the world, the Amazon.
Here we will also publish the positive news that arises and denounce the bad things that happen. We are also going to promote community tourism projects, if you want to get to know the Amazon, visit us.
We anticipate our gratitude to people from all corners of the world who want to support the conservation of our forest with a grain of sand.
Sincerely
Rosa Santi
